Being that my my the grommet in between the harmonic balancer andf crank is

shot. Might it be time to consider a blower? From what I understand the

flywheel needs to be fused with the crank when a blower is installed..

I reported in earlier posts that my belts on my `98 C5 were squeaking. I

took it to a friend`s shop and he found that the rubber in the harmonic

balancer is all worn and wobbling. He said the belts are old and dry too.

The job is going to cost $679 total, new belts and all. He said it`s a 4

hour job to get the harmonic balancer changed. Does that sound about right?

What gets me is that I just had the car at the dealer and they replaced two

tensioners. They said it needed new belts to stop the squeaking. Why didn`t

they spot the bad harmonic balancer? Can I get away with not replacing it?

What happens when one fails?

Warmest regards,

Steve

Butterfly Inspired Car – The Nissan Teana Birdwing Concept -
This Nissan Teana concept is freakishly cool. Everything about the car is supposed to remind you of a butterfly. Why the butterfly was used to model a car, I have no idea, but I can’t argue with the results.

Everything from the exterior sheet metal to the heavily overworked interior is supposed to invoke one of nature’s most beautiful insects. The sensibility isn’t for everyone but there’s something original about all the detailing. It’s ornate but in a modern way. Get past the design quirks and you’ll find a car full of tech wizardry like a heads up HUD display and auto-driver mode. So how about it, would you drive one?
